Angel Lore

This is where I'll describe the specifics of what an angel is and how it works in my memories, since if you ask 10 angels what angels are and what they do, you'll get 10 different answers.

Angels live seperate from humanity, but can observe humanity. This area they live in is called Heaven, but it is not an afterlife. It's basically just the Angel Zone. Angels are expected to follow the many rules of Heaven, one of which is that angels are not to create anything of their own. So, Heaven is made up of copies of human architecture, from many different times and places.

Angels have both a humanoid and non-humanoid form that they can switch between. They initially form as a non-humanoid, and over time they learn how to gain their humanoid form and switch between the two. If an angel initially forms as a humanoid, this a sign of them having an unstable form, which can cause many issues. They may lack their non-humanoid form, may have trouble switching between forms, or may be sickly. Though, sickness often works different for angels.

Angels are also, even in their humanoid forms, not human. They don't have human needs, and they have powers that humans do not, such as minor shapeshifting or elemental powers. They tend to act differently and have different cultural and behavioral norms than humans, though there is some overlap.

Angels are all generally expected to contribute to Heaven, finding whatever job fits them best and focusing almost entirely on that. It's expected to be their entire life, though the extent that each individual angel takes that seriously varies.
